Shellfish Oil
Shellfish oil is a very powerful lure, but I do prefer to use it as a call lure. I will either squirt or pour it on a tree or bush about 2-1/2 to 3 feet off the ground. If I don't have something nearby I'll push a stick into the ground, outside of the catch circle, and lure it.

| Tom, when making a drowning set for beaver, what size wire do you recommend? I have used 12ga or 14ga for coon but I realize a beaver is a much stronger animal in the water and I wasn't sure if I needed heavier gauge wire for these sets. Thanks for your help. |
| While using wire for Coon is okay, I strongly recommend that you use 3/32 cable. You can do this by cutting the length of cable that you need, then using a double ferrule at both ends, make a loop. |
